How do I know if WAP and Mobile Internet are working on my phone?
View the Services menu (for Nokia phones) or Internet menu (for other phones) and open your operator's main page bookmark (e.g. Orange or Vodafone Live). If you are on Vondafone and you can access the Vodafone Live service, or, if you are on T-Mobile and you can access t-zones, you are already setup. If you cannot access any WAP or Internet page, you are probably not subscribed to the WAP service or you do not have the correct setting on your phone. You can get your WAP and Internet working on your phone by contacting your network provider, who can assist you in setting up the phone.

How much does the service cost?
To access all our bookmakers and place bets is FREE.  For the Sports Information package we charge £4.99 per month, payable by credit card or premium number SMS (UK only). You will also pay the network operator the data transfer charges, while using the Mobile Sports applications. Please contact your network operator for information and tarifs.

How do I know if my bets has been placed?
Once you have placed your bet, you will receive a bet confirmation receipt. To avoid any disputes please take note of the receipt number. You may also check with your settle bets category in your account section if you mislay the above.

What happens if I received an error message when placing a bet?
If you do not receive a confirmation message you will know your bet has not been placed. The message will usually tell you the reason why the bet was rejected: you didn't have sufficient funds in your account, you exceeded the stake allowed for the selection, the event you are betting for is off, or you have network or GSM signal problems.
If the problem continues, please contact support@mobilesports1.com or your Bookmaker at their customer services number.

If you forget your account details to access the My Account section of these sites, please follow the link "forgot my username/password"' from the login page and your details will be provided to you by SMS.

Is the service only available in the UK? How do I access MobileSports when abroad?
As long as your mobile phone has coverage of GPRS, CDMA, GSM within the country you're in, you can use the MobileSports service.
If the country you are visiting can provide a "roaming" service for your phone, then you can connect through GPRS (You will need to arrange this with your UK network provider before traveling).
You can connect via CSD directly to your network provider's gateway, but as this will involve an international call, it will be expensive.
You can also connect via CSD in the country you are visiting. You will need to contact a network/CSD provider within the host country.
Your network provider will advise you which options are available to you.

How do I access my Betting account, Transactions, Deposit and Withdraw money?
Within every account section of your bookmaker's account on your mobile phone you will be able to access all of these sections. You will have to re-enter your password for security reasons when you withdraw or deposit money. You can also access these options via the internet by entering your bookmaker's account username and password.

I have downloaded one of the Mobile Sports Java applications. Where can I find it on my phone?
You can find the downloaded application in the Java applications menu. Please consult your phone user manual for more information.

Why does my phone keep asking me to allow an internet connection when I use a Mobile Sports application?
As a security measure, you are asked permission to connect to the internet from a Java application. You can set your phone to perform this check only when starting the midlet. Please consult you phone user manual for more information. For example, on Nokia 6600 you can do that by going in Menu->Manager, select the application, press Options and, under the Connectivity Options, select 'Ask first time'.

How does it work?

FOR THE TECHNICALLY MINDED - Mobile Sports delivers sports content using its unique technology which combines well-established industry standards like XML, XSL, SSL and HTML with home-grown techniques for implementing "push" web updates. Our system works by having:

  • Latest, up to date, sports content
  • Many information sources
  • Live text and voice commentaries
  • Real-time delivery over a limited waveband link
  • Clients with low specification PDAs, with limited computation and display power
  • Secure access to multiple bookmakers - to open accounts, see odds and place bets
  • Security, reliability, scalability

We provide our solution by integrating many information sources/feeds with bookmaker data, using XML as a business language, creating dynamic web content optimized for the mobile phone display, and adding real-time "push" update support for this content.

Our truly remarkable server side technology - based on the latest .NET technology - stores and manipulates all the data and provides the user requested rich content. The server technology is backed by an innovatory client side J2ME technology.
